Akhil Gramin Yuva Vikash Samiti (AGYVS) is pleased to share the Six-Month Progress Report (Nov 2024 – Apr 2025) for the project “Enabling Learning and Enhancing Educational Opportunities for Musahar Children.”
Through the generous support of The Morimura Fund (USA), AGYVS has worked across five villages of Kanti block — Mani Fulkahan, Godai Fulkahan, Bakatpur, Bangara Chopan, and Ahaladpur Serukahi — to uplift Musahar children and their families through education, awareness, and empowerment.
🌸 Key Highlights:
- 5 remedial education centers established and fully functional.
- 200 Musahar children enrolled, with 83% improvement in literacy and numeracy skills.
- 35 children transitioned to nearby government schools.
- 50+ mothers trained on hygiene and childcare practices.
- Legal awareness and social support reached 63 community members for pension, caste, and ration entitlements.
The project also introduced tablet-based learning, strengthened parent-teacher relationships, and fostered community ownership in promoting education — especially for girls.
Despite challenges like irregular prior schooling and limited digital exposure, the children’s enthusiasm and the community’s growing awareness are shaping a hopeful future.
🌻 The Road Ahead:
AGYVS plans to deepen digital education efforts, expand legal and health outreach, and design a sustainability roadmap to ensure lasting change for these communities.
